Full Electronic Medication Management System Available from Keane Care

The Long-Term Care Electronic Medical Record is a step closer with the release of Keane NetSolutions Electronic Medical Management system made up of ePrescribing, eCharting with eMAR, Physician Orders, and Drug Interactions/Patient Education software.

This system eliminates paper from order entry, order updates, drug interaction checking, medication administration charting, end-of-month turnover, and faxing orders/reorders to pharmacies.

More than saving trees, adopting electronic medication management can decrease opportunities for error, increase efficiency, improve quality of care, and provide better documentation with less work.

Adopting electronic medication management can prepare a LTC provider for the Electronic Health Record, the nationwide system for exchanging electronic health information with other healthcare providers.

2008 Keane Client Conference Draws Nationwide Attendance

The 2008 Keane Client Conference was a big success, drawing 200 attendees from across the country to Indianapolis in mid-September 2008.

The Conference is an opportunity for LTC providers to get together in person to share best practices, sharpen product knowledge, discuss hot topics, learn what's new at Keane Care, and network with peers from around the country.

The heart of the conference is the educational sessions and they received positive reviews, such as "Very informative, great questions and responses," "The conference would be a success if this was the only session I attended," and "As usual I found more ways to use my software."

PowerPoints presentations and handouts from the sessions are posted in the clients-only section of this Website.

Keane Care Certified to Connect to the Pharmacy Health Information Exchange.

Keane Care was recently certified to connect to the Pharmacy Health Information Exchange, operated by SureScripts. This connectivity facilitates the secure, electronic transmission of pharmacy messages between long-term care facilities and pharmacies.

By eliminating paper, phone, and fax from prescribing, electronic prescribing makes getting long-term care residents the medications they need a safer and more efficient process. Keane NetSolutions ePrescribing software reduces the risk of medication errors associated with handwriting, illegible faxes, similar sounding/named drugs, and manual data entry.

"Keane NetSolutions is the first e-prescribing software application to certify using the new electronic message elements that were recently released for the specific needs of long-term care providers. This is no small accomplishment in my book," said Dean Rutherford of SureScripts.

"We are pleased to offer our long-term care clients this important addition to our electronic medication management tools for point-of-care charting and drug interaction screening," said Dave Brotten, Keane Care's National Accounts Manager.
