Long-Term Care EHR Status

Long Term Care providers and software vendors have been working toward Electronic Health Records (EHR) since 2004 when President Bush announced an initiative calling for healthcare providers in different settings to be able to share patients’ health records electronically in ten years.

Keane is actively readying its Keane NetSolutions system for LTPAC EHR certification now and are on schedule to submit for certification in 2012.

ICD-10 Implementation

The U.S. healthcare industry will change from the ICD-9 to ICD-10 standard for medical diagnosis and inpatient procedure coding on October 1, 2013.

We have begun the process for implemetning ICD-10 in our software for Long-Term Care. We anticipate releasing it to our clients well in advance of the implementation date to give them time to become familiar with it before the ICD-10 implementation date.

Software Designed for the Future

Test Results Module
This interface notifies you when Laboratory and Radiology results arrive and displays them in your Keane NetSolutions system. In addition to increasing efficiency in delivering results, the software uses the data to give you graphs and trending information.

Eliminate trips to the fax machine to check for results, with notification and alerts by smart phone or email. The system lets you know when results arrive according to your setup instructions. eDocuments

With Keane NetSolutions eDocuments you can add files to a resident’s electronic record and organize them for maximum efficiency. You can upload:
  • Scanned documents such as lab results, prescriptions, and insurance cards
  • Images and photos
  • Electronic files attached to email
  • Binary files, such as a Word doc, pdf, jpg, gif, and bmp

Quality Assurance

For Infection Control and Incident Reporting
Keane NetSolutions Quality Assurance includes modules for improving efficiency in infection control and incident reporting. This software removes QA activities such as reporting of incidents and infection control from residents’ legal health records and keeps them separate in the Administrative Record.

When you automate your facility’s paper QA Reports, they are available anywhere/anytime to authorized employees, eliminating handwriting, filing, and pulling charts. You gain tools to standardize report contents while helping to ensure your policies are followed and crucial data is captured.
