MELVILLE, NY, July 16, 2002 - Leading business and information technology (IT) consulting firm Keane, Inc. (AMEX: KEA), today announced that its Healthcare Solutions Division (HSD) has signed a 5-year agreement with HealthSouth Corporation, the nation's leading provider of ambulatory surgery, diagnostic imaging and inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services, to provide an integrated healthcare information solution to 110 inpatient rehabilitation facilities. The agreement calls for the installation and maintenance of a suite of financial, clinical and scheduling software unique to the rehab environment.

Drawing on its extensive billing expertise and clinical IT strength, Keane designed a solution to meet the distinct needs of the rehabilitation industry. The solution features Keane's Patcom Plus Patient Management system and the VistaKEANE Resident Care Management system. In addition, HEALTHSOUTH will install Keane's electronic document storage system to assist with enterprise-wide and regional reporting management. Working as a single, integrated solution, the billing and clinical components will seamlessly share information to help HEALTHSOUTH continue to reach its financial and care delivery goals, as well as further leverage what HEALTHSOUTH has already accomplished in the recently-enacted industry change to a prospective payment system model for reimbursement.
